Despite not having a particular motivation to study Kinesiology, ThinkSTEP helped this student come up with one based on his own life experience. This student suffered a shoulder injury that prevented him from playing basketball for 6 months. He had tried western doctors as well as Chinese medicine before discovering physical therapy. In his essays, this student described physical therapy with intense detail, explaining the important differences between just eating medicine and actually working physical motion to heal himself. After meeting with a physical therapist for many workout sessions, he slowly became convinced that physical therapy is the most effective medicine for body injuries. As such, he became inspired to help others with similar physical challenges.
