A teenager who grew up in poverty before being adopted has always had a soft spot for single mothers. Additionally, her adopted family had the financial resources to travel the world, and this student fell in love with the hotel (hospitality) industry. After brainstorming about her values and future aspirations, ThinkSTEP advised this teenager to create a recycling program that transferred old shampoo bottles from hotels to non-profit organizations for impoverished mothers. Her essay focused on how this project connected her childhood experience and her professional motivations to work in the hotel industry.
